CHAMPAIGN COUNTY 12/30/17 4:28 pm — Troopers have released the name of the man killed in an interstate crash.
74-year- old William Barnes of Chicago was dead on the scene when troopers arrived.
The driver and passengers of the SUV were taken to the hospital but have been released.
We’re told there was a dog with them that also needed medical attention following the accident.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A man was killed during an interstate accident.
State Troopers say a 74 -year-old Chicago man was driving south when he lost control of his truck because of the slick roads.
He crossed the median and hit another car head on.
The driver of the other car was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. He had two passengers inside. They were also taken the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
ISP is still warning drivers to take their time because of all the slide offs.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) – Troopers are on the scene of a two car fatal crash on I-57 northbound at milepost 225 (between Pesotum and Tolono exits).
The Champaign County Sheriff Office posted a travel update as of 8pm Friday: Primary routes are bad. Secondary routes are worse.
Deputies are seeing cars crashing into one another and motorists are getting hurt.
They say if you don’t have to travel tonight, we advise that you don’t.
