CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA)– Firefighters rallied together to honor a man who lost his life. Christian Sheehan died about 3 years ago in a house fire. His mom says there weren’t any working smoke alarms in the home.
Several volunteers and the Champaign Fire Department wanted to do something to prevent more deaths like these from happening. They installed and checked smoke alarms in homes. Sheehan’s mom says this has become an important day for everyone. This was the third year for their “Smoke Alarm Blitz” event, honoring Sheehan.
