Homeowner shoots at intruder

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — An intruder may have been wounded by an armed homeowner. Police responded to a home in the 900-block of East Fairchild Street, about 12:30 am, Sunday.

The homeowner reported hearing loud knocking before seeing two men in his backyard. The homeowner told officers he heard someone enter through a window and saw the intruder with a gun. He fired several shots causing the intruders to run away.

A person of interest, being treated for a gunshot wound, was questioned at a the hospital but was uncooperative. Officials say, at this time, they’re not able to connect him to the crime.
