Homemade bombs found at home

Local News

FORD COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Authorities say they found homemade bombs at a Clarence house near a wooded area.

The commander of the University of Illinois Police Bomb Squad says they were called there around 4 pm,  Monday. North County Road 2600 East was closed for most of the evening while first responders worked the scene.

The commander says the squad detonated the explosive devices to “render them ineffective.” No word yet on a suspect.

The Rankin Fire Protection District, Ford County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency medical crews were also on the scene.
