Help ID bank robbery suspects

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Authorities want help identifying two men suspected in area bank robberies.

The first happened about 10:15 am, Saturday, March 30, at First Midwest Bank, in the 800-block of West Springfield, Champaign. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money and fled with an undisclosed amount.

He’s described as male, white, 6’4″. He was wearing a fake beard, black cap, black jacket and blue jeans.

The second heist happened about 9:15 am, Saturday, April 6, at Regions Bank, in the 100-block of South State Street, Champaign. The suspect gave the teller a note demanding money and fled with an undisclosed amount.

He is described as male, black, 6′, 150 lbs. He was wearing a black hat, black jacket and dark pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police who can arrange to speak privately with you. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may also submit tips to Crime Stoppers.

Authorities remind citizens information submitted to Crime Stoppers is completely anonymous.

Calls are routed to a third-party national call center which receives your information, completes a tips information form then passes it to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Caller ID tracking is not utilized by Crime Stoppers and conversations are not recorded.
