ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Nearly $3 million is coming to the state to help children who are victims of violence.

The money goes to CASA groups around the state including those in Champaign, Coles, Effingham, Macon and Vermilion counties.

Officials say fewer than ten percent of children who are victims get the emotional support they need.

They say they hope this money will get them the help they deserve.
