SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College is almost $200,000 richer!

The National Science Foundation granted $199,999 to the college for the development of a cybersecurity program. The Advanced Technical Education grant is for 3-years, beginning in June.

LLCC currently offers classes in cybersecurity as one of seven tracks leading to an associate of applied science degree in computer information systems.

In 2015, LLCC was one of six schools in the nation taking part in a competency-based training program. It began working on a competency-based program in cybersecurity.

The new NSF grant will continue that work.
