VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A 23-year old is in police custody after leading authorities on a nearly 45-minute chase across four counties Thursday night.

Police were originally stopping Calin Dial for speeding, but he took off. Police say he was already driving on a revoked license before the chase.

He drove from the northwest part of Vermilion County, through parts of Iroquois and Ford before ending in Champaign County.

At one point, police used stop sticks to blow out his tires, but Dial kept driving for 15-more miles.

The truck’s tires eventually fell off and sparks flew as he drove on his rims. He surrendered when his truck could go no futher.

A passenger with him was not arrested.
