CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — WCIA-3 News and area high school football teams are helping feed the hungry.
We’re teaming up with the Eastern and Central Illinois foodbanks to Tackle Hunger.
People brought non-perishable food items and cash donations to the Centennial-Urbana game Friday.
After all was said and done, about 190 pounds of food and $200 was raised. It will provide more than 1,200 meals.
Combined with other games, the total is more than 18,000 meals for the hungry.

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — It was another great week for Tackling Hunger.
Effingham’s Flaming Hearts hosted Mt. Zion, collecting food and money to help the Eastern and Central Illinois foodbanks.
More than 1,600 pounds of food and more than $400 were raised equaling more than 4,400 meals.
In three weeks of collecting, well over 17,000 meals have been provided.

We’ll be in Effingham as the Flaming Hearts host Mt. Zion. Bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to the game Friday night.
Hundreds of pounds were collected last week at the game between Arcola and Tuscola.
