VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WCIA) — A man was arrested after hitting an Indiana State Police cruiser with an SUV during a pursuit.

30-year old Preston Lee, of Terre Haute, Ind., faces multiple charges. The incident started about 4:30 pm, Tuesday, in the Idle Creek subdivision.

A trooper spotted a male, white, leaving the scene of a burglary in progress call. When he tried to stop the subject, the man, later identified as Lee, got into the SUV and fled the area.

A second trooper joined the pursuit. Lee’s vehicle was forced to stop at a railroad crossing because of a train. Authorities say he then put his SUV in reverse and slammed into the cruiser.

After the train cleared the tracks, Lee proceeded to drive on them, when his vehicle got stuck. The troopers then took Lee into custody. No one was hurt.

Lee is charged with multiple counts including felony theft, resisting law enforcement, operating while intoxicated, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
