ARGENTA, Ill. (WCIA) — Fire Chief Cory White is stepping down after almost three decades.

White says he will retire in June. He started working for the fire department in 1992, when he was 18-years old.

White has served as captain, assistant fire chief and then chief.

White says he will be around to help out until a new chief is chosen and things are running smoothly.
