Fire burns down home

MARSHALL, Ill. (WCIA) — One house is destroyed after it caught fire in Marshall.

It happened Monday morning at Archer Avenue and First Street.

Marshall Fire Protection District Paul Hoggat says firefighters responded to the scene at 6:30 a.m. Monday.

The home was fully engulfed when they arrived, he said. The house is a total loss.

The fire chief says the residents weren’t home at the time, and no firefighters were hurt during their response.

The cause is undetermined.
