VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A Danville man will be sentenced May 30 after being convicted of multiple charges

Wednesday, a jury found Thomas Kindred guilty of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated fleeting or attempting to elude a police officer and driving while license revoked.

Prosecutors said about 2:10 am, August 21, 2018, an officer tried to conduct a traffic stop on a car Kindred was driving. He fled the scene at a high rate of speed and led officers through town.

When his vehicle was forced to stop, Kindred fled on foot, but was quickly caught. A search warrant revealed a loaded .357 under the driver’s seat.

While testifying, Kindred claimed his passenger at the time, Jermario Webb, who is now deceased, pointed the gun at him. Prosecutors used squad car dash cam video to dispute Kindred’s claims.
