LAKE COUNTY, Ind. (WCIA) — A father is being held on charges of neglect after his two sons drowned.

4-year old Levi and 2-year old Evan Patillo, of Thayer, Indiana, were pulled from the Kankakee River, at the LaSalle Fish and Wildlife Area Tuesday afternoon. 34-year old Eric Patillo was taken into custody.

Witnesses say Patillo was acting strangely which prompted them to call 911.

Authorities say Jesse Lintner is being sought as a person of interest. He was reportedly seen removing one of the boys from the water.

The investigation is ongoing.
