Farmers get to work in fields

Local News

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Weeks of rain have put farmers behind schedule. Thursday, they were finally able to get to work.

Farmers in their fields were happy to finally get out. They’re in a hurry to get crops planted. One farmer says he’s only been able to plant about 40-acres so far this season.

Although rain held off for a little while, they need it to continue. Some say there are still parts too wet to be worked. This time last year, farmers say they were just about done planting, but this year, they’re just getting started.
