SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The governor, lawmakers and state police all helped make sure an officer who died in the line of duty will be remembered. They celebrated Trooper Chris Lambert by engraving his name into the Wall of Honor.
The Northbrook trooper died in January while investigating an accident on I-294. Police didn’t focus on how he died. Instead, they praised the way he lived, remembering him as a family man. His wife, Halley, fought through tears to thank the community.
“Thank you for creating this special, scared place to remember Chris and all the other troopers who have lost their lives. Thank you for your continued support of my family and I.”
Lambert is expecting another child later this year.
