WESTVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — We have new information on a story we brought you last week.
We told you about a Westville father who was concerned about speeding on East Main Street in a school zone.
He talked to village leaders and police about it this week. Village leaders decided to approve funding to pay for an extra officer a few days a week to monitor speeders.
It won’t be for long – just four-hour shifts. Westville police say this isn’t a cure, but they hope it helps.
They say village leaders are also working on borrowing a radar speed limit sign from Tilton.
