NATIONAL (WCIA) — The Food and Drug Administration announced a shortage of EpiPens.

They are injections to help people having life-threatening allergic reactions. The shortage is due to  manufacturing issues.

Companies making the drug are having a hard time getting them out quickly enough. The generic brands are having the same issue.

The drug was put on the FDA’s list of drug shortages in May. EpiPens help people going into shock because of allergic reactions to food or insects.

Doctors are warning patients who use Epi Pens to place their orders early to avoid being without one in case of a medical emergency.
