Educators discuss school safety

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Champaign Unit 4 School District had a board meeting on Monday to address the issue of school violence and discuss several plans to protect students and staff more in the future.

Officials said many students have been carrying weapons to school.

Superintendent Shelia Boozer suggests the district install permanent metal detectors at the doors.
