SHELBYVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources hopes the third time is the charm when it comes to the Eagle Creek Resort.

Leaders from Shelby and Moultrie counties met to discuss the future of the vacant resort and convention center.

It’s been closed since 2009, but IDNR is going to put it up for bid again for private developers.

The first time there was one which was rejected. The second, despite an offer of $500,000 to help tear it down, didn’t receive any interest.
