CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Blood donors are being recruited for the 50th anniversary of National Volunteer Blood Donor Month. Donation rates drop by about 20% during the holiday season.

Weather worries, including snow and ice, led to cancellations of blood drives over the weekend, further challenging the stock for area blood centers. This week, donors will receive vouchers for a “Clover” t-shirt.
