JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Domestic abuse survivors at Jacksonville’s Crisis Center are painting rocks with positive messages and placing them around town.
In light of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, they hope this gives others the strength to speak up. The crisis center will begin hiding the rocks around town this week.
This isn’t the first time they’ve painted rocks, but this is the first time they’ve used them as a tool to help other victims come forward.
They hope to start a new tradition where even more people can participate.
