DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The school district could make history if board members decide to renew the district’s contract with AVID.

If it does, it will become the first in the state to offer the program to children in K – 12. It helps prepare students for college and the next steps of their education.

Board members say it’s important for students. Currently, all but two schools in the district, have the program.
