Department animal welfare checks

VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — It’s not just people some groups are worried about in frigid weather.

The Vermilion County Department of Animal Regulations will be doing welfare checks this week. If they see an animal in danger outside, they will take it to the vet for treatment.

The owner will have to pay for it. They say the owner could also be cited for cruel treatment or aggravated cruelty.
