CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Authorities have determined the March death of a 15-year old teen was due to natural causes and the result of a previously undiagnosed medical condition.

Saturday, March 11, Luke Miller was taken to the hospital for a serious medical condition. He was subsequently transferred to Barnes Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri, where he passed away.

Officials say Luke’s condition progressed rapidly and led to his death. Autopsy results did not show evidence of trauma or significant injury which would have been consistent with being attacked or beaten. It was initially thought his death could have been the result of an attack.

Police investigated widely reported allegations Luke was the victim of bullying, but detectives determined he was well-liked and state “the criminal investigation did not reveal bullying or battery as a contributing factor or result of his death.”

The Miller family has asked its privacy be respected during this time.
