Davis visits fire department to assess needs

Local News

SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — The volunteer fire department is looking for new equipment and one Congressman stopped by Wednesday to see what was needed.

Representative Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) toured the Savoy Fire Department. The firehouse is made up of volunteers.

Some of the equipment comes from a federal program which started before September 11, but those items only last so long.

Davis also spoke with the village president about the Curtis Road project. The village applied for federal funds to get some of the work done.
