EASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY (WCIA) — In honor of Charles Darwin’s 209th birthday, the Department of Biological Sciences is hosting a series of events on evolutionary medicine through Tuesday.
This year’s program focuses on the 100th anniversary of the 1918 flu pandemic.
Monday, February 12, Dr. Michael Osterholm, a public health scientist, infectious disease expert and science author, will host a presentation and discussion on those topics.
Tuesday, February 13, Dr. Christopher Brooke, assistant professor at the School of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will host a presentation and discussion about his areas of expertise. Each activity begins at 7 pm.
