DACC trustee makes history

Local News

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — It’s a milestone at Danville Area Community College.

For the first time in the school’s 72-year history, an African-American community member will serve as college trustee.

Tracy Cherry has been chosen to fill the vacancy left by Tonya Hill who resigned in August.

Cherry has been in charge of District #118’s Alternative Program for more than 10-years and has been the principal at Kenneth D. Bailey Academy since its opening in 2012.
