Courthouse gets Lincoln portrait

Local News

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The courthouse is the latest facility to get a portrait of Abraham Lincoln.

Friday afternoon, it was unveiled to the public. Courthouses around the state are getting them to celebrate the Bicentennial.

This one was made possible because of donations from the Illinois Judges Association and the State Bar Association.

The portrait is from 1860 and shows Lincoln during his transition from trial lawyer to presidential candidate.
