CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The county could be getting several solar farms, but not before a set of rules is passed.
The county’s Environment and Land Use Committee is going over an ordinance Thursday night. It would decide what regulations a solar farm company would have to follow.
In April, Sidney residents voiced concerns over a potential 1,200 acre solar farm. They were worried about noise and loss of farmland.
The head of the committee says there definitely mixed feelings. If the committee signs off on it, it goes to the county board for final approval at the end of the month.
