URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Some patients at Carle Hospital were affected by a power outage Monday.
Nearby construction knocked out power briefly to some areas, forcing the use of backup generators.
Families were told not to worry that it only affected some TVs in patients’ rooms and dimmed some lights. It also resulted in slower food service.
Carle’s chief operating officer says they were immediately alerted to the problem when it happened and no life-support systems or other medical equipment were affected.
Everything is expected to be back to 100% shortly.
