DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — It was a show of comraderie and remembrance today.
Hundreds of veterans and their families came out to the Vietnam Era Veterans Recognition Day.
It’s the sixth year for the event honoring those who fought and served overseas, complete with a guest speaker who painted vivid pictures of the war.
Organizers say it’s a way they can show respect to all branches.
“Any veteran, I don’t care if you’re navy, army, marines, air force, coast guard, we all have that one common goal, that’s we love our country and we’d do anything we can for it.”
About 450 people came today. If you missed it, they’ll have another event next year.
