Community honors man killed in accident

WINDSOR, Ill. (WCIA) — People took time to honor a firefighter and former council member Wednesday.

44-year old Jeremy Voris died in a car crash on Route 16, in Shelby County, Friday. The car he was in was rear-ended by a truck. Voris was a passenger and died at the hospital. H

e was a husband, father and his best friends say he loved to help people. Many from the community turned out for his funeral procession to honor his legacy.

Voris was a firefighter, paramedic and used to serve on the town’s council. Several fire departments led the procession through town to the cemetery where he was buried.

His badge and helmet were given to his two children and the American flag was given to his wife.
