URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — After storms ravaged parts of Central Illinois last month, damaged trees and brush are now finding new uses.
Piles of tree trunks and fresh mulch at the Landscape Recycling Center in Urbana have been dropped off after being damaged in the storm. Workers at the center say this is the largest intake they have seen from a storm.
“It was quite a bit,” said Center employee Tanner Brown. “For a couple weeks it was nonstop trucks coming in and dumping.”
The trunks are to become available for purchase as firewood and the newly chipped mulch will be available at a later date.
