City works to improve business and travel

Local News

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA)– The city is working to fix roads and street crossings. City officials say they want to address issues of congestion so businesses can ship and receive materials easier. They also want it to be less difficult for employees who commute in and out of the city each day for work to be able to do their jobs without sitting through as much traffic.

One of the main construction projects will happen along Faries Parkway and Brush College Road. It’s an $80 million dollar project that will include an overpass. The city is still working to secure funding. A start date for construction has not been determined yet.
