CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County has more property to help a family in need. An empty lot, on Harvey Street, in Urbana, will soon be home for a low-income household.
Last week, city council members started discussing the possibility of selling the property to Habitat. This week, the deal was finalized.
City leaders say it’s a good thing for the neighborhood. They say this sale is just the beginning and they have plans to start building more homes for low-income households.
