DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A part-time job which pays $73,000 a year sounds good, right? It could be a reality for the next mayor if a couple things happen.
In November, there will be a question on the ballot asking if people want to switch to a city-manager form of government. It would make the mayor’s position part-time.
Right now, the salary for the full-time mayor is $73,000. Aldermen need to come up with a part-time salary by October, just in case the form of government changes. Otherwise, the part-time mayor will be getting a big paycheck.
