RIDGE FARM, Ill. (WCIA) — Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day and was observed every year on May 30. Tuesday, one Central Illinois town honored that history.

Nearly 100 people came out as the Illinois Patriot Guard rode into the cemetery and around the Soldier’s Circle. The Honor Guard was also on hand for the ceremony which included a wreath-laying.

The event was put on by the Ridge Farm Cemetery Board and Masonic Lodge.
