CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – The snow and ice played a role in a 36 year old Mahomet woman’s car ending up on frozen Kaufman Lake.
Kelly Johnson says “”I brought my lunch out here and before I got parked I lost control and slid right in.”
Champaign firefighters were first on scene and tell us Johnson was able to get out of the car and get to safety on her own.
A tow truck was brought in to get the car off the ice capped lake.
