UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS (WCIA) — A 3-year-old boy got to be a University of Illinois police officer for a day.
A video from his father captures the moment Clayton Martins got to wear his very own “badge”. Martin’s badge may have only been a sticker, but it made his day.
McCubbins says he was at a gas station when he saw Officer Hoskins. He asked him to take a photo with his son. McCubbins says he’s happy to help his son learn police officers are your friend.
“I just think that our law enforcement – they’re looked at as bad guys and I just thought that it was a good opportunity for him to meet a hero. They need to be recognized for what they are sometimes,” said McCubbins.
Clayton wants to be a policeman too someday. His dad says, he calls them “superheroes”.
