CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A church spent some time praying for farmers in their community this weekend.
For the last three years, Mount Vernon United Methodist Church has taken a day to bless the tractors, seeds, and farmers who grow the crops. The pastor of the church says they do this because as a church in a rural area, they want to support those who farm. “I just love it because it is a chance to meet some of the people that live in the community, the rural community here and I was raised down south and it was more of a farming community there too so to me it’s like home,” said Naomi Roberts. They hope for a good farming season and that everyone is safe while working while working.
