Billboards bring business

Local News

RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — Village leaders are trying to change your mind on where you choose to shop.

They’ve put up 2 billboards on I-57 to get more people to spend some money in town.

Businesses are scattered throughout the town. They have places up near the interstate, along Rt. 45 and Rt. 136.

It’s got everything from restaurants to floral shops. The Rantoul Chamber of Commerce has been pushing for more people to spend their money locally. The hope is the billboards bring them in.

The village sponsored the cost. Allen says she’d like to see them up as long as possible.
