Athletes at prep school getting attention

Local News

RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — Student athletes are getting a second chance to play college football at Midwest Prep Academy. It’s a new school in Rantoul designed to help high school graduates get college football scholarships.

At least one player there already has an offer from a Division I school. The program started about about a month ago at the old camp Rantoul on the former Chanute Air Force Base. Before that, Midwest Prep was housed near Chicago. Players who go there says it’s paying off for them.

The program lasts until November. Officials say, by that time, almost everyone will have an offer to play college football.
