CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Orpheum Children’s Museum has a new area that’s out of this world.
It opened the Busey Bank Astronomy Kids Corner. It features interactive exhibits to teach kids things like what properties are found in asteroids.
UI Mechanical Science and Engineering students helped put some of it together. The director says the space-themed corner ties in with the museum’s larger theme.
“To focus more on astronomy really ties nicely in with a STEM-educational theme that we’re trying to integrate throughout the museum,” said museum executive director Doug Brauer.
The Astronomy Corner will be open all summer.
