CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Broken windows at Central High School have caused some students to be moved. The concern is asbestos.
Three classrooms need windows replaced. Unit 4 officials say it’s common to find trace amounts of asbestos in materials used to anchor older windows.
They were removed and air and material samples were taken. Those tests should be back in a few days. They’re expected to come back as safe.
Until then, all classes in the affected areas have been moved to other parts of the building.
