CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A warrant has been issued for a man police say could be connected to a deadly shooting.
It’s for the investigation into 21 year old Scott Roth’s death. Police say they’ve developed information leading them to a court authorized arrest warrant for 28-year old Isaiah Depriest Cain, of Champaign.
Police say he’s 6’3″, with brown eyes and black hair. They also say Cain may have cut his dreadlocks in an attempt to alter his appearance. Cain is also known to have sustained a recent hand injury and may have a cast on his arm. His bond is set at $2 million.
Roth was found near an apartment complex parking lot in the 400-block of Edgebrook Drive after reports of a shooting May 5. Police located Roth, who had sustained life-threatening injuries. He later died at the hospital.
Police say this is still an active investigation.
