SPRINGFIELD — Police are investigating an armed robbery. It happened about 8:50 pm, Tuesday, at Dollar General, in the 1600-block of Wabash Avenue.
A man entered the store with a handgun, walked behind the counter to the cashier, demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned or bi-racial man, 6′. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, tan cargo pants, black shoes and a Halloween mask believed to be from the movie The Purge.
