Amphitheater upgrades

Local News

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The Decatur Park District approved upgrades to its amphitheater. Managers say the changes made to the plan will pay off in the long-run. They include things like electric work and adding Astroturf to the seating area.

The amphitheater will be at Nelson Park. The upgrades cost about $365,000 out of a $5 million budget. The Howard Buffett Foundation is paying about $4 million.

The park district director says these changes will make for a better experience for people who come out to use it. The amphitheater should be done by spring 2019.
