SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — Willard Airport is adding a new destination to its roster.
American Airlines will now offer direct flights to Charlotte, North Carolina. It expands access to three major cities; the other two being Dallas and Chicago.
Earlier this month, United Airlines announced it’s discontinuing service to Willard Airport September 5. The airport’s executive director Gene Cossey says they cited a pilot shortage.
Cossey also says the new flight option comes as very exciting news for the airport.
