ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Ameren is upgrading technology to save lives in case of an emergency.
The gas and electric company has installed new AED kits in more than 200 trucks around the state. The kits will help employees perform CPR more efficiently.
They feature voice commands, to tell you if you need to push harder and when to give air, as well as visual commands.
Ameren employees face dangerous circumstances while working and they say they’re excited about the upgrade. The company spent more than $300,000 for the equipment.
Officials say the investment benefits the entire community. If there’s ever an emergency, they want people to know Ameren can help as well.
